We believe that every child deserves a hero. At the Nevada Children’s Center, our objective is to give our young clients the tools and guidance they need to advocate for themselves while coping with challenging circumstances. The goal is to develop a higher self esteem, form strong friendships, and learn to become productive members of their family, school and society. Services include:
Targets young children typically 4-13 years old in need of support to reduce emotional, cognitive and behavioral problems. It provides powerful methods to restore children to their highest level of functioning. In our simulated social setting for up to 4 hours 5 days per week. The goal is to reintegrate our young friends back into their home or community based setting.

The Nevada Children’s Center provides free transportation from home or school each day. Upon arrival each child is given a free meal and time to exercise while learning small lessons on health, wellness, basic living, social skills, communications skills, and appropriate peer interactions. During academic times children are taught the value and responsibility of education by learning impulse control, attending to task, and completing assignments without using their emotions. Goals at this time include; self sufficiency, dealing with anxiety, and honesty regarding their actual assignments due in school. Child behavior specialist disseminate into small teams for treatment. This includes activities such as: one-on-one sessions, role playing, peer play groups, and art & music expressions deigned to help the child modify their behavior. Each child is monitored in 15 minute increments and reported outcomes are places on a daily report. The objective is to help the child learn behavior management, anger management, coping with anxiety, and other appropriate healthy outlets for frustration and disappointment. Children are able to earn daily rewards and weekly field trips for good behavior in meeting measurable goals. At the end of each day, children are able to earn 3 snacks for good behavior. |
